Nigel has been placing and restoring dental implants for more than 20 years, he undertakes all aspects of implant dentistry as well as advanced restorative and reconstructive dentistry. He is dedicated to providing long-term, healthy dental solutions for his patients, with an emphasis on achieving high levels of natural appearance and natural function.

Since graduating as a dentist in 1988, he has placed great importance on continuous personal development and was one of the first dentists in the UK to attain a Master’s Degree in Oral & Maxillofacial Implantology. In 2008 he achieved Membership in Restorative Dentistry, Prosthodontics, from the Royal College of Surgeons, England. This award led to Nigel being recognised by the General Dental Council (GDC) as a Specialist in Prosthodontics. He has also held teaching posts for over 10 years at the University of Sheffield, training other dentists in restorative and implant dentistry at both beginner and advanced levels. He regularly hosts visiting dental colleagues wanting to learn the techniques from him and also provides advanced training and skills workshops at one80 Dental.

In a nutshell, Prosthodontics is the field of dentistry which focuses on the replacement of missing teeth as well asany associated soft and hard tissues (your gums and the bone underneath). Missing teeth can be replaced by dental ‘prostheses’ which are better known as crowns, bridges or dentures, which may be fixed or removable and can be stabilised by dental implants. Every patient is different, and Nigel uses his expertise and experience to consider the most appropriate course of action based on individual needs, he uses advanced dental techniques to try to give every patient the best possible chance at getting the most natural outcome.

Throughout his well-established career, Nigel has continued to develop his expertise and knowledge in all aspects of implant work, as well as advanced restorative and reconstructive dentistry. He uses many advanced techniques in 3D bone regeneration, 3D bone reconstruction and sinus grafting and also offers All-on-Four and Teeth in a Day as implant solutions.
